Bespoke Country Kitchen Transformation
We were delighted to return to Heather and Dean’s beautiful cottage in Thorney, on the border of Newark and Lincolnshire. They kindly welcomed us back to take some photos of their finished bespoke kitchen – and we must say, it looks stunning.
Kitchen Design Process
Heather and Dean embarked on their journey with us to replace their 14-year-old kitchen. It all started in our showroom in Worksop, where they were able to experience our bespoke kitchens firsthand. During their first meeting with their personal designer, Rebecca, they were guided through our kitchen design process. We carefully noted their Wishlist ideas and began working on an estimate. With ideas and brochures in hand, they left us to design their perfect bespoke country kitchen.
Kitchen Practicality and Maneuverability
Rebecca’s design focused on meeting Heather’s specific requirements, particularly the need for an accessible kitchen. As Heather uses a wheelchair and is the main chef in the household, she needed a layout that would not only provide accessibility but also accommodate her desire for a luxury kitchen island. Rebecca ensured that Heather’s accessible kitchen would include plenty of storage, open space for manoeuvrability, and a beautiful kitchen island at its heart – all without compromise.
After visiting several competitor studios, Heather struggled to find designs that could balance practicality with style, especially when it came to integrating mobility needs into a country kitchen design. Most options lacked the space required for both an island and mobility aids. However, we made it a priority to understand Heather and Dean’s vision fully and designed a kitchen that would truly ‘wow’ them while making the most of their cottage’s space.
We made it a priority to listen carefully to Heather and Dean’s requirements, ensuring there would be no doubt that their new kitchen would have the ‘wow’ factor. We were thrilled when Heather chose to move forward with us. Her project quickly became one of our favourites, and we are so happy she trusted us to bring her dream kitchen to life.
Finished Kitchen Product
Heather envisioned a bright and airy kitchen in sage green, keeping the country style grounded with a natural stone-effect Dekton worktop to tie the look together. To add a special, personal touch, Heather opted for a Spanish-style tile wall, inspired by her and Dean’s favourite tapas bar in Lincoln. These tiles, featuring pastel blue, yellow, and coral, added a pop of colour and personality. On our photo day, we were amazed at how beautifully everything came together.
